Canada Day bottle drive

July 2nd - 11th, 2021

A week of fun turned into a huge success for TEP!

Shortly following Canada Day 2021, The Empowerment Project hit the road. In temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius we went door to door and collected bottles from neighbours, family and friends. TEP covered ground all over Edmonton and surrounding areas- from St. Albert to Ellerslie, from Claireview to Callingwood.

Thanks to the cash and bottle donations we received, The Empowerment Project was able to raise over $1400! All money raised went directly to WIN House to help fund their operations, continue the fight against domestic violence, and supporting its survivors.

Thank you to all volunteers and individuals who donated their time to help make this event so successful. A special thanks is due to:

- Aisha Ahmad, our VP Public Relations, for the fantastic video of the event.

- Melanie Harysh, our contact at WIN House, for helping coordinate the event with WIN House.

- Jasmeen Atwal, our VP Event Coordinator, for the seamless planning of the event.

Along with many donations of cans and bottles, we were lucky enough to receive significant cash donations from:

- Joe Pasilic

- Lisa Busierre

- The Bala Family (Sonali Bala is an executive member!)

- Radha & KK Krishnamurti

With such an amazing turnout, TEP is looking forward to next year's bottle drive, and our future events coming up soon. Stay tuned to what TEP is up to by following us on instagram (@tepyeg) or signing up to be on our email list (tepyeg@gmail.com; you can register online or email us).

Once again, TEP is very thankful for all the donations and support have received not only for this event, but also to the club and our mission in general. We are always looking for new members and ways to reach out into the community and continue supporting WIN House and survivors of domestic violence.
